Greetings,it's been a while,hasn't it? I'm truly sorry for abandoning this blog for quite some time. The truth is,it's not that I've been that busy to write in this blog recently,it's just that I've been putting it off. Yes,procrastinating. Anyway,for this post I'd like to try something different. Instead of writing about what I've been doing recently (which is very boring,I know. Reading about some girl's fairly ordinary life.), I'm going to post a short story that I wrote a while ago- last year - for the Creative Writing Class organised by The New Strait Times,held in my school. Don't expect too much from it,it may not be very good or as interesting,but I hope you enjoy it :) ( Bear in mind that I did write this a year ago..which was ages ago,and I wrote this close to midnight,which was the deadline, so I apologise for the simple words and the straightforward story line :P )
Hungry For Love

The
last rays of the sun began to fade as it sets in the horizon,a sign
that the day is at its end. Melody slowly got up from the swing,where
she had been sitting for the past half hour in the playground. She
stood there for a moment,watching parents persuading their children
to go home.
“Come,dear,it’s
getting late. We can come again tomorrow,okay?” ,she heard a parent
say. Children began to clear the playground,walking home, hand to
hand with their parents,or riding their bike,with their father or
mother guiding them along. Watching them,she suddenly felt jealous.
She knew it was ridiculous to be jealous of little kids but she could
not help it. They all have something she doesn't have. Wiping a
teardrop with her sleeve,she remembered the life she use to have,but
it was no use thinking of it,for she can never bring it back,it was
her past.
Melody
went back to the orphanage,‘The Home’,as the neighbours call
it,but to Melody,it was just a temporary home, not even a home,just a
house. A house for orphans like her. She often felt hungry,but not
for food. No,she was craving for one thing,but she couldn’t tell
what it was.
She
did have some friends,the orphanage warden expected all of them to be
friends. “Who says you don’t have a family?”, the warden used
to say, “Here,we’re just like one big family.”. Melody still
preferred to be alone, so the others were not so close to her which
made life at the orphanage lonelier.
There
was one thing she could still hope for though,being under aged,she was
still up for adoption. As she had been under foster-care for more
than three years,it was her dream to be adopted,to be cared for and
finally have a real home, and she knows,deep in the hearts of every
orphan,they had the same thought.
One
Saturday morning, after finishing her duty washing the breakfast
plates,a blonde girl,a few years younger than her, walked towards
her. “Mrs.Moore would like to see you in her office.”she said
timidly. “Now.”,she added hastily and went away,skipping happily.
Mrs.Moore is the head of the foster-care orphanage,she handles the
children’s affairs and anything related to The Home. After taking a
deep breath,Melody finally knocked the office door and gently opened
the door.
When
she entered the room,she was surprised to see not only Mrs. Moore,but
also another lady,sitting at the opposite side of Mrs.Moore,with a
table in between them. The lady looked around thirty,and had hazel
eyes and black hair, dressed neatly with nothing too fancy. She gave
Melody a kind smile and Melody returned it with a shy smile. Too shy
to remain eye contact,she looked at the office table,and saw a piece
of paper. Her eyes flashed with hope when she saw the adoption
form,which had her name on it. Mrs.Moore smiled and nodded in
approval.
Melody
began to realize why she had been so hungry at The Home,even after a
Sunday meal. Now she knows what she had been craving for,what she
wanted so badly. It was love. Now,though,she never feels hungry
again,because her new foster mother will always give her an endless
supply of love,something she did not have before. ~

Hello again. Sorry for not posting anything in a while :D I guess I have been procrastinating a lot these days :P Last night I slept over at my grandmother's house,pretty lonely because none of my cousins are here :

Hello again :) . So..it's been a more than a week since I posted something :P My apologies :D Wow..time flies so fast,its already the end of the year.. :( Have about a week or so more before school finishes for the year. But end of the year is one of the best time of the year, school is more relaxed and fun things are lining up to finish off the remains of the year. Tomorrow is Hari Raya Aidil Adha..or Hari Raya Haji :) and because of that we get Monday and Tuesday off :D On Wednesday,I will be going for a Creative Writing Workshop at school which I signed up a few months ago,organised by the New Strait Times,so I am excused from class the whole day :P Then on Friday, there will be a class party during school hours and after school hours there will be an end-of-year librarian party and installation!! :D Which we probates will receive our librarian badges,finally!! /xD See? All the "fun things" :P Right. Anyway. I already got some of my exam results..and once again,I can't say I'm entirely satisfied,but I guess it's alright,I did my best. Also,I am proud to say that I managed to finish five books in one and a half weeks! :D Ahahaha..some of you may think it's lame but that's a record for me,so if you do, go read some cheerleader or popstar's blog,not mine >:P Hmm..nothing else special to report. Will do so if I have. Till then,goodbye.
